The Marging in page setup come as 2.5cm for top and bottom
and 1.9cm for left and right.
It is easy to change to 1 and 0.5, but having to do it
every time is abit too much!!

Is there a way for the first worksheet that come up when
you open excel to use your parameters?

You could make two template  files
   book.xlt    for new workbooks
   sheet.xl    for new worksheets
and set up your margins as you want them.
