How to set default number of copies to 1

I am using Excel 2000 on a W-98 computer and have a workbook with 10
worksheets. The default setting for "Number of copies" in the
File/Print... dialogue box varies for each sheet from 1 to 4. I want
them all to default to 1 but cannot find any way to change the
default. I have searched this group for the past 3 years and found
that many people have had the same problem but have not found a
solution. The usual answer, check the printer properties, does not
apply because the default number varies by worksheet, does not change
when I change the printer and the problem applies only to this one
workbook. I have searched for macros that would be setting this but
again it varies by worksheet and there are no worksheet specific
macros (nor is there anything in the Workbook_BeforePrint.) I would
appreciate any suggests of what to look for or try.

You have found your own solution in the before print. Just put a
procedure(macro) there to set the default.

Don,

Yes, that would do it. However, either I set a "permanent" setting of
1 (that will negate any other number that the users might enter for
numbers of copies) or I create a macro that the users will have to use
instead of setting the number of copies via the File/Print dialogue
box. The former is not workable and the latter makes it more
complicated to use a fairly widely distributed workbook.  The real
question is, where in Excel is the setting that is being used as the
default and how do I change it?
Regards,
Rick

OK. I think this is what you meant.

page setup>options>advanced>copy count

Don,

Again, thank you for your reply. I have seen this suggestion before in
the forum but frankly don't understand it. File>Page Setup...>Options
puts me into the printer's own setup screen; i.e. not related to
Excel's setup. In my printer's setup there is no "Advanced" and there
is no "Copy Count" or anything vaguely related to setting the number
of copies to print.

In any case, it is obvious from the File>Print...> screen that these
settings are held somewhere within Excel, not the printer because
different worksheets in the same workbook do have different default
settings and changing the printer does not change the defaults. The
question, therefore, is where in Excel do I find the default settings
for things such as "Number of copies" and "Collate" for each
worksheet?

Regards,
Rick
