Hi Folks,
I'd like to design an invoice template using Excel 2000.
When I print it I'd like to have just a few row gridlines and a couple
of column gridlines print................the rest would be suppressed.
Question is...........how to suppress the ones I don't want to print.
I suspect the answer to this may involve formatting the background
color of some of the cells but after a fruitless search through the
Help index and a couple of Excel tomes I'm throwing in the towel and
asking for help.
Which will be much appreciated.

Hi Richard,
Turn gridlines off and use cell borders.

Richard,
Some options for you...
1. Set the print area by selecting the area to print then...
File | Print Area | Set Print Area
Only the "Print Area" will print.
2. Select the area to print then...
File | Print | Selection (button)
3. To suppress the printing of Gridlines go to...
File | Page Setup | Sheet (tab) and uncheck the Gridlines button
4. Hide any columns or rows that you don't want printed by...
Right-clicking the row/column headings and choosing "Hide" on
the pop-up menu.
5. Cells appear blank when a custom number format of ";;;" is used.
6. Some combination of the above, while formatting the area
to be printed with borders of your choice.

Richard
Either....
1. Change the background color of those cells to "White" which is not the
default "no color"
2. Turn off gridlines in Tools>Options>View and use Format>Cells>Borders for
lines where you want them.
When in print setup, with method 2 make sure "gridlines" is not enabled.
