I have a multi sheet workbook that has different headers on each sheet.  I
would like to add page numbers to the sheets in consecutive order but when I
modify the footer to do so, it also modifies the header.  What I need to do
is have a different footer and header on each sheet with the footers being
linked to print page # of #'s.  Any help you can provide would be great.  I'm
using Excel 2000.

Use customise header

Hi Rajeev,
If you group your sheets -- add more sheets to the selected
sheets by using the Ctrl key,  or right click on sheet tab and
use "select all sheets" the grouped sheet'  page numbers
will run consecutively through all of the selected sheets, and
your headers and footers will be dependent on the their own
sheet (custom) headers and footers.

After you have issued the print, be sure to ungroup your sheets
by right click on worksheet tab and choose "ungroup sheets".
Failure to ungroup sheets will cause any change made to what
you see to also be made to each of the sheets in that are
grouped -- in other words you would destroy your workbook
if you fail to ungroup.

I think you were already in custom hearder and footers as
was suggested but just in case you weren't.  The left
header and footer is left justified can be on more than
one line.   the middle header/footer is centered and can
be on multiple lines.  the right header/footer ir right justified
can be on multiple lines.      You have calendar dates, and
page # of ##  available.
