hello,
We are having a really odd issues. I've got a user who's screen just
goes black when they try to print to there local USB printer and Excel
Document with a chart in it. When they hit print, the printer starts to
print, prints a couple of lines, the the screen on the pc just goes
dark. it looks like it goes into power save mode, but I can't get it to
come back at all. I have to power off the pc and power it back on to
get the screen back. the pc is a dell optiplex gx280 running win2k and
office2k. It prints a regular spreadsheet fine, but as soon as you add
a chart, boom, the black screen comes. I've updated the drivers and
that didn't help. the user can print the document to a network bases
pc, just not that local printer.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mark

Try Ctrl+Alt don't know what it is supposed to do but it
seems to wake up my laptop if caught immediately.
You might check their control settings to see if they are
set to laptop type of settings.
Obviously if you can print other sheets they are hitting the
correct buttons for a print and not a power off key.
Perhaps check the Power settings in the control panel.
I expect the problems is probably in a print driver.
Does print preview work?
I always print from the file, print menu myself,
and use the print preview toolbar icon for print preview.
