New pc, just installed. Xp pro sp2, excel 2003 oem basic without sp. No print
area has been set up (the problem appear also
on a new spreadsheet, so it's not a problem with a specific file).
Press the print button, the print icon appear for a while in the system tray
area, then immediately disapper. I'll then go to
printer and faxes to check how many doc is waiting to be printed: unfortunately
there are 0 docs.

The strange things is that word, notepad, or printer's test page works fine.
It's just excel.

What could be the matter?

Thanks
Andrea

Hi,

it's quite difficult to offer meaningful support based on the
information provided. My first guess would be that printing itself
works fine as you do see the spooler icon in the system tray. It is
also normal behaviour for the printer spooler tray icon to beremoved
when all pending print tasks have finished.

Did you happen to check the selected printer? Would it be for example
the Office Image Writer? Alternatively you might check the port
settings of the printer driver.

Regards
Udo
