I have a spreadsheet with multiple columns so that it spans more than one
printed page.

I would like to somehow 'freeze' the left column to have it display on each
printed page.  I know how to do this so that the left column will stay
visible if you scroll, but I don't know how to make the left column act as a
header and print on each page.

For example, the left hand column has people's names, and the columns along
the top have information about that person, which spans multiple columns.  I
want the person's name to carry over on each page.

Can this be done?

Thanks!

In File>Page Setup>Sheet have a look at "Rows to repeat at top" and Columns to
repeat at left"

For Row 1 enter $1:$1 or nothing if you don't wany Row 1.

Not sure from the description what you need other than column A to repeat.

For Column A enter $A$A
