Hi there,

I have a workbook (Excel 2003) with some code in it that colours a cell when
a filter is applied, so as to more easily identifiy which columns are
filtered.
This works fine and the colour is applied as soon as the filter is.

the routine for highlighting the applied filters is called from these events
Workbook_SheetCalculate
Worksheet_SelectionChange
Worksheet_Calculate

Anyway, I wanted to apply the same thing to a new workbook, but in this case
the colours are only applied when a change in selection is made.

I stepped through the code in the workbook that works and identified that it
is the Worksheet_Calculate that changes the colours as soon as the filter is
applied. However, this event is not run in the new workbook.

Does anyone know why Worksheet_Calculate is run when a filter is applied in
one workbook and not in another?

Many thanks in advance

In experimenting now, with a very simple example in Excel 2003, I find that
a calc only occurs when the autofilter criterion is changed if a formula
exists that references a cell in the table.
