I get this error when the cursor hits the "y = ActiveWorkBook.Name"
line...why?? I'm using Excel 2003. I've also tried declaring "y" as a
string and variant.

For x = 1 To .FoundFiles.Count
Workbooks.Open Filename:=.FoundFiles(x)
y = ActiveWorkbook.Name

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Craig,
Seems you're not alone.
Do you still get the error if you remove all add-ins etc that may be trying
to running code ?
