I am currently in the process of moving to a new laptop.

Instead of setting up all my old preferences again, I
believe I can just move preferences files from my old
computer to the new computer. I cannot however find out
how to do this.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,
Gareth.

I assume you are referring to preferences with Excel.

Do a file search for *.XLB which is the file that Excel stores most
preferences in(some are written to the registry).

Menu and Toolbar customizations are saved in the *.XLB file.

A file search may turn up more than one *.XLB file.  You will have to
determine which is correct one.

Note where they are and make a minor change to a Toolbar in Excel.  Save/close
and see which *.XLB file was modified.

You can copy this file over to the new Computer.
