I am having trouble entering more thsn one character in a
cell unless I enter it from the function area or I am
editing the cell directly.  It used to work fine and I am
confused as to what is causing this and how I can fix it.

Thanks.

Make sure your keyboard keys are not sticking -- ie shift/alt/control
