each time i try to start excel it goes into reconfiguring
microsoft office....i have tried all the options of
uninstalling and installing, changing the configuration
and detect and repair but it just does the same thing over
and over again...The other commponents of microsoft office
work but excel refuses todo so..i only have one user/
administrator....it used to work but now it does not...is
there some formula for a clean microsoft office
install...as many components are left behind when
microsoft is uninstalled...

Hi digeratus

i tried all your methods but the problem remains...in one
the installer starting is blocked but excel does not
start...similar the editing of the registry does not help

excel has been fully installed but whenever attempts are
made to start it...it starts the windows installer and
reinstalls excel again...but after that excel refuses to
start and the installer cycle keeps repeating inits
various forms...

have tried cleaning the registry  via norton but that
does not help either...

uninstalling and reinstalling gives the same problem...

>> WINDOWS INSTALLER APPEARS EVERY TIME I START AN
APPLICATION

>> Intended For Windows XP / Windows 2000
>>
>> The Windows Installer is a global application used to
install many
>> Microsoft products, including Office 2000 and Office
XP, and is even

you'll see is

>> Open the Group Policy Editor by selecting Run from the
Start Menu,

mmc.exe instead.

>> Expand the following branches:
>> Local Computer Policy \ Computer Configuration \
Administrative
>> Templates \ Windows Components \ Windows Installer
>> Double-click Disable Windows Installer to your right,
click Enabled,
>> and choose Always from the list. Click Ok when you're done.
>> The change will take effect immediately. If you added
a snap in, as
