Hello,
I like to have the filename print as a footer with each
sheet.  I know how to do this for the individual sheets
(file>page set up>header/footer).  My question is, is
there a way to set Excel up so that it does this by
default with every worksheet I print?  XL2000, XP Pro.  I
don't need the full file path, just the workbook name.

Any advice anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

You can "group" the sheets by selecting a tab and "select all sheets" or CRTL
+ Click for non-contiguous sheets or SHIFT + Click for contiguous sheets.

Set up your footer on the active sheet and all sheets will have same set up.

DO NOT FORGET to "ungroup" the sheets when done.

For future.........

Open a new workbook.  Customize as you wish.  File>Save As Type:  scroll down
to Excel Template(*.XLT) and select.  Name your workbook "BOOK"(no quotes).
Excel will add the .XLT to save as BOOK.XLT.

Store this workbook in the XLSTART folder usually located at........

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

This will be the default workbook for File>New>Workbook.

You can also open a new workbook and delete all but one sheet.  Customize as
you wish then save this as SHEET.XLT in XLSTART folder also.  It now becomes
the default Insert>Sheet.

More can be found on this in Help under "templates"(no quotes).
