How can I prevent Excel 2000 from inserting hyperlinks?

Microsoft Excel 2000 - How can I prevent Excel 2000 from inserting hyperlinks
into my spreadsheets? I would like to customize Excel to never do this to any
of my documents.

Hi

if you mean when you type
www.microsoft.com
excel turns it into a link, then it's a setting under
tools / autocorrect (options) ... and the "autoformat as you type"
untick replace internet and network paths with hyperlinks

note, this will affect other office products as well, e.g. Word.
