I compile a report of a group of individuals each month performing various
activities.  Using the same data, I would also lke to produce a report for
each individual of their activities on a monthly basis showing like a card
index.  Is there a way of producing both types of report but inputting the
data only once?

Hi Charlie,
You might want to do some reading up on these data (menu items)
  Filtered Lists
  Pivot Tables
  Subtotals

You can use Google web search,  and Google group search  to find
more specific information, but perhaps you can start with these.

Excel Tips and Techniques   (site index for excel pages) - Debra Dalgleish
http://www.contextures.com/tiptech.html    for filtered lists, pivot tables

Using Data>Subtotals, create a table that has just these subtotals, not the hidden detail rows.
