Working in large spreadsheets after saving a few times she gets the memory error. She will need to reboot before she can re-open the sheets. If she tries to open them before rebooting and opening any sheet, they will only open in Read Only mode. A reboot will stop the errors for only a little while. She works extensively in excel. P4 2.4 GHz 512 MB ram 40 GB HD Is this a common issue with Excel and is there a fix or is the person stuck with getting memory errors aftyer working in the sheet and doing mutiple saves. Sounds to me like the file isn't allowing Excel to close properly (still in use after Excel is closed). Many charts? What kind of formulas? Is there any vba code? Are there links to other technologies? What version of Excel and windows? Is it only 1 workbook that causes the problem? Is Outlook open? Many things can cause this sort of memory leak, the workbook could be corrupt, could be just too complicated, could be a vba problem, etc. You should pretty much always reboot a machine after having a problem with Excel as it very rarely clears up after itself properly. cheers Simon > Working in large spreadsheets after saving a few times she gets the memory > error.
