can i set up "up and down" performance arrows from excel?

Can I set up "up and down" performance arrows comparing a products
performance from month to month? The visual would help show whether the
product sold more or less from one time period to another.

Yes.  Pull-down View > Toolbars and check the drawing toolbar.  This toolbar
will permit you to insert a variety of arrows in your worksheet.
