I don't understand the question, why can't you use the calculator at the
same time? Here's a way to get it in the toolbar:

view>toolbars>customize, select commands, in the left pane scroll to tools,
in the right scroll to custom, drag in onto the menu, maybe change name to
calculator. Having said that it doesn't matter if you use that one or the
one from accessories, it's the same file..
