thought I'm a crack too - until I could not solve the following job:

How can I avoid automatic hyperlink creation when entering an e-mail address
?

If I started with a leading apostrophe, I didn't get the hyperlink:

Why?

It just tells excel to treat this cell as text (as in '01-04).
