How can I force Excel 2002 to use the installed virus
scanner (eTrust EZ Antivirus) to catch infected macros?
When I click Tools | Macros | Security, the window
says "No virus scanner installed."  Please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Jack,

This is a known issue with AV manufacturers that don't support the API.
Check out the article at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=282207.  There is
no way to force the use since the developers of the AV did not intend on it
ever calling this API.

Newer engines by the company may or may not have this API call enabled.
