how do i scan documents

Is there a way to scan a document nto excel

With a scanner and a very good OCR application you can scan to a text file then
open that in Excel.

My experience has been that some manipulation is necessary depending upon the
efficacy of the OCR.

Also, numeric data will generally come in as text but you can change that.
