How do you lock ur make line #1 containing column titles
so they remain in that position no matter what column you
sort. When I sort, sometime the tile line is sorted with
the data in the column.

Also sometime when I sort a column the rows don't sort
with the column data. For example I sort an address column
and I am sorting by city, the rest of the information
doesn't stay with the appropriate city. The rest of the
info doesn't sort with. Only that colmn sorts.

Any help would be appreciated.

First, I only use those sort icons on the toolbar when I have exactly one column
to sort.  If there is more than one column, I'll select my range (bottom right
to top left (include the lastrow of the header) and then use Data|Sort.

Check the header row option to see if excel guessed correctly.  Then sort the
whole range.

(I don't trust excel to guess at sort ranges, pivottable ranges, subtotal
ranges, etc.)

It might be a little extra work up front, but it's a lot safer.
