Can not access Excel

I get the following when Excel is selected:

EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program.

Hi Loren!

Details of operating system and Excel version help in all setup
problems.

My guess is an overfull Windows\Temp folder

After closing down and booting up, delete all files in the
Windows\Temp folder.

Also check the size of the Excel.xlb file.

Start > Search > For files and folders
Search on:
*.xlb

If it's much above 30Kb then it has become bloated and can be deleted
or renamed Excel.old

If these don't work, post back with fuller details.

Probably a corrupted item in one of the xlstart folders but it could be a
number of things...
