I put CD in, and it won't boot up. How do I install Excel 2003 with Windows XP? I tried to weave through the maze of Microsoft support for free, and can't seem to do it.

It says to get the product code, I must open Excel, which I can't do since it won't install.

The Excel 2003 CD is not "bootable".

With Windows XP running.

Put Excel 2003 CD in CD drive.

If it doesn't autorun, go to Windows Explorer and double-click on the drive to
open.

Should be a Setup.exe file to start the process.

Have the 25 digit product key ready.  It should be on a sticker on the CD or
on the CD case/envelope.
