Greetings,

Does anyone know if there is a problem installing Excel
2000 with the Windows XP operating system?  My Gateway PC
died on shich I had WIndows 98. I bought a whole new Sony
VAIO computer which has Windows XP and when I try to
reinstall Excel 2000 (with the CD and the proper key)on
my new Sony it responds and indicates that I have the
wrong key. Does anyone out there know what could be the
problem?

Thanks!!

No problem, in fact, you can actually have multiple versions of
Excel/Office on one machine if you install to unique directories.

I have just discovered I have this same problem. Had it on
my system. Uninstalled most of Office except for Word. Now
I want to re-install Excel and I'm denied.
