I'm having trouble finding the Temp folder under Local
Settings/User/Documents and Settings. I need to delete a
tmp file from it.

Janet, have you tried searching for the file?, Start, find, files and
folders and search for the template name, or to find all excel templates

Make sure you have hidden and system files showing

There should be 2 temp folders on your computer if you are running XP

1 is c:\windows\temp
the other will be
c:\documents & settings\janet(your user name)\Local Settings(hidden
folder)\Temp

Delete all files and subfolders from the temp directory.  You may need to reboot
to get them all

Documents and Settings\user\local settings\temp is the correct path.
