I am having difficulty creating a template and then importing information
from access.

I want to create a standard form (template) that I can import information
from my access database into; email for that person to input info into
unprotected cells; they in turn email back to me; and I forward via email to
final destination.

This will be done on a daily basis and I need the ability to select which
record I want to be imported.  How do I do this, via query??

Do I need to first bring information into excel via worksheet before
creating the template?  What is the best way to handle this?  I want the
information from access to be on a standard format (template) with most
cells protected.  I will email to another user who will input information
into the unprotected cells.  Once I receive their reply, the information
will be emailed to another location.

My information is in access, but I cannot email a form from access can I?

Hi,

You have a couple of options here:

1) When writing your query in MS Query, replace parameters with
[parameter] - this will give yuo a prompt when you try to import data from
Access to Excel. You would need to import all relevant data into a "pull"
page, and set the sheet up to reference the relevant cells.

2) In Access, get your data into a report, and you can send mail using a
macro in the forms object.

Hope this helps

Warm regards

I have never done this.  Can you explain in more depth how I would
accomplish this?

I tried this and got close.

I originally had my database saved in a file on my desktop.  When I
attempted to create a query in excel, I was not given the option of looking
on the desk top.  Therefore, I created a new folder in My Documents and
copied the database.  Properties indicate that this is in My
Documents/databasename.

When I attempt to create the query, I get the message that My
Documents/desktop/databasename is not valid.  What am I doing wrong since
properties indicate that the file that I am choosing  appears correct?

Thank you,
jwrnana
