A few months ago someone posted a similar question about this
situation, but no one replied Thus, I'm really hoping someone may now
have an answer (llama, llama, llama)
HERE Goes: I have Excel 2003. Downloaded the Excel's add-in 'Template
wizard with data tracking...' which sort of works. i.e. I can
successfully create an excel database and template (xlt) files using
the add-in.
However, if I use another computer on the network even though the
template is there on everyone else's computer (and) although its also
been loaded, copied and placed directly into everyother computer's
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Officexx\Library folder I have a
problem:
My Problem: "The template wizard only opens when you mannually run it.
i.e. if you open an individual record already created , you get a
message error message "cannot open template wizard." HOWEVER, if you
go to the Tools Menu, click addins, UNCLICK the "Template wizard...
Option" Go back to the Tool Menu, click Add-Ins, CLICK the "Template
wizard... Option" the Add-In now works. Meaning the database is
updated accordingly (New Record, Updated, etc) Furthermore, if one gets
out of Excel completely, and then reopen Excel, you get the same
message error and must then repeat this entire routine yet again
(TOOLS, UNCLICK, OK, and TOOLS, CLICK, OK) all over again
("At this point I'm tempted to tell my users to start singing the
Hookie Pookie")
Two last points: (a) several of the other network computer are running
Excel 2002 (b) alt+F11 doesn't show any hidden VB code at least on my
machine running Excel 2003
Any ideas would be great? Thanx in adavance

I downloaded the XP version but can't seem to see
it in 2003
How did you get the download to work in 2003.

No exactly, answer I was looking for but happy the 2nd posting here got
their question answered. As for my question, I have no trouble
downloading the "Template Wizard" and getting it to work part of the
time, only if I "reinitialize" it.
> > (as per my original message) > > i.e. if you open an individual record
already created you get a message error message "cannot open template
wizard."
HOWEVER, if you go to the Tools Menu, click addins, UNCLICK the
"Template wizard... Option" Go back to the Tool Menu, click Add-Ins,
CLICK the "Template wizard... Option" the Add-In now works. i.e. the
database is updated as it should (New Record, Updated, etc)
Furthermore, if one gets out of Excel completely, and then reopen
Excel, you get the same message error and must then repeat this
entire routine yet again (TOOLS, UNCLICK, OK, and TOOLS, CLICK, OK)
all over again
As you see doing all thses steps "reinitialize" "Template wizard..."
Macro can be time consuming not to mention a pain. I suspect there is a
VB coding issus I'm overlooking?? Thus, I was hoping someone could tell
how modifiy the script and avoid havng to do all these steps
Thanx in advance
