Looking at the help and knowledgebase, it seems, that Excel should be able
to open Lotus 123 files.
All I get is "Cannot open Lotus 123 File".
Office 2003 professional
I need to be able to do that in order to be able to convert some old files.
I looked at converters and filters and there is nothing there for Lotus.

If you mean .WKS (Release 1), .WK1 (Release 2), .WK3 (Release 3) or .WK4
(Releases 4 and 5), then Excel should be able to open them. On the other
hand, if you mean .123 (97 and Millenium Editions, so versions 8.* and 9.*),
no version of Excel can handle them. Microsoft provides *NOTHING* at all to
deal with them. You only choices are commercial (i.e., not free): recent
versions of 123 itself, Quattro Pro from version 10 on, and DataViz's
ConversionPlus.
