I have a spreadsheet with names, addresses and email addresses.

I have copied the email addresses from word into excel.  However I am
unable to edit the email address hyperlink for some reason.

Also if I try and enter the email address directly into a cell, it
doesn't come up as a hyperlink even though the text is underlined and
looks like a hyperlink.

Please help as I have got a huge spreadsheet and all the email
addresses need to be edited as the company name has changed and I am
unable to do at present as the Edit option is greyed out.  I also need
to add new details and cannot do so.

If I open a new blank workbook, the hyperlink works fine.  Appears to
be a problem with just this one workbook.

Please help, thanking you in advance

I expect you have turned off the hyperlink in autocorrect
Tools,  autocorrect options...,     autoformat as you type

With the option off if you retype an email or other hyperlink into a cell
it will retain the old hyperlink and display the new information.

With the option on, if you retype an email or other hyperlink into a cell
it will also change the old hyperlink besides the display.

If you globally change the email addresses with  Ctrl+H   then
you will not change the  underlying hyperlink,  regardless of whether
the option is on or off.    So that by itself will not fix your problem.

The use of F2 then enter would fix the hyperlink under a corrected
email address but that would take quite a while.

To fix you hyperlinks after you've fixed the text with Ctrl+H,  you would
nee to use a macro.    see
  http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/buildtoc.htm#MakeHyperlinks
to create/replace  hyperlinks based on the display..

For help installing and using a macro see
