Hello,

Having an issue with File Locks in Excel.  The dialogue box that informs you
the file has been locked doesn't tell you which user has the file locked.
Making it difficult for the users to sort out and make their changes.

I've found a lot of posts and web pages that address the file being locked
by other users that don't have the file open or the file being locked by the
user that is trying to open it, however, that isn't this problem.  (Once the
other user closes the file it will open just fine.)

The message they are receiving is:
File locked for editing by ' '.

Can anyone tell me how to get the username to be displayed in the quotes,
instead of just an space?

Thank you in advnace for your assistance.

All the users of that file needs to enter their names to the:
Tools/Options/General/User Name
