So we had a crazy accident here the other day.  We have a very important file
that only one person has write access to and some others have read access to.
One of the people with read access was able to overwrite the file by saving
another file as the same name in the same folder.  We do run file backup
everynight however this was at the end of the day so we lost a lot of work
there.  Do you know of any way to prevent this from happening?

let me know

Talk to your IT folks and tell them you want a folder that only certain people
have write access to.

Then the readonly users won't be able to do any harm.

But they can save a copy on any other drive (not sure if that's a problem).
