Try highlighting the area you wish to copy, then hold down Ctrl and Shift
keys and click on Edit, then CopyPicture........then paste wherever you wish.
If you do not want the gridlines to appear, the set the cells background to
white before copying......

the grid keeps being copied also
i want the text only, not the grid, and it has to be copied in a

I don't have quark express but I see the method does copy the gridlines over
to some other programs while not to all. You may have to set the cell
borders to white as well as the background to keep the gridlines from copying
over.
