Hello to all.

I do not consider myself an expert in Excell, I know quite a bit of the
basic stuff, but when it comes to macros and coding it gets too
technical.  I hope that someone here can offer some advice on what i'm
wanting to acheive.

I have this single worsheet spreadsheet.  It's an invoice log, I jot
down information on each invoice that hits my desk, dates, amounts,
when it comes back to me, when I input it in the system, requisition
numbers, etc.  Recently we added a scan funtion to our copier, and it
allows us to have a digital format of the invoices.  I've just been
keeping all the scaned documents in a folder, but sometimes I have to
go to my log, then go to the folder when wanting to look something up.

I would really love to have the capability of adding another column,
which has a link or something like that, so that I can open up the
digital file of that invoice.  So each row has a unique link and opens
up its respective invoice.

Can this be done.  I have a feeling it can.  Can anyone help?  I'd
really REALLY appreciate any advice.

Thanks!!

-Diana

.PS...I know very little Access.

Why not insert a hyperlink and point it at the file(s)

Insert>Hyperlink...

PDF is a crappy format.

you should keep your data in a database; and use a db reporting tool
instead of something criplled like excel

excel and pdf's are one-way streets.
you can't get information out of them.

that is one of my biggest complaints about both of these formats; it
isn't easy enough to get the data out of it

Diana,

Use Nick's suggestion and see what comes of it.

Aaron,

I'm sure Diana was looking for help, not your opinions.  If you want to
help, that's great, but otherwise, don't waste someone's time.

I think that you're full of sh.t and biased.

Excel is a disease and you all are lepers.

Diana;

I would reccomend keeping your data in a database and you won't run
into brick walls like this
