How do you change a cell's color with an "IF" statement. I can produce
conditional text with an "IF" statement, but don't know how to effect the
formating in the cell.

Use Conditional Formatting (menu Format, Conditional Formatting), choose
FormulaIs under Condition 1 and in  textbox type your formula, starting with
"=" (without quote).

Take care that the formula you type must have a results TRUE or FALSE...

If you want more help, post the formula you want to use and give us more
specifications. You can also see the on line help about Conditional
Formatting.

(I'm not sure of  names of menues, option and commands, because
translating from the Italian version of Excel...)

Hope I helped you.

Thank in advance for your feedback.
