Hi All

Im new to excel and was wondering about the following:

In one of the columns i have to put the same information except for the
number at the end, eg example1, example2, example3 etc.

Is there something on excel that will add what i want with the number
from 1-1000? Even if it put a space that i could later remove would
help.

Thanks

noidea,

In A1 type in "example1".  Select your range to 1000.  Go to
Edit>Fill>Series and select AutoFill.  Click OK.

Try something like this:

Cell A1: Example1

Left-click and hold on the drag handle of cell A1
(the little black box in the lower right)

Drag down (while holding down the left mouse button)
You should see the series increment...Example1, Example2, etc
Release the mouse button when done.

Does that help?

Ron

Hi,

If you enter example1, example2,example3 in cells A1, A2 and A3.
Then highlight all 3 cells and click on the little black square in the
buttom left corner of the highligted array. Then keep pressing down the
left mous button and drag down to A1000

It should fill in with example4, example5 etc. etc..

Regards,
Bondi
