Is anybody else having problems with the MS news server?

Over the past few days, I only seem to be able to retrieve parts of some
threads from the NG,
using OE 6.00.2900.2180

I have lots of threads which start Re: some topic, as opposed to the
original question (and some of the responses).

Is it just my computer, or is anybody else having problems.
Any suggestions?

Hi Roger,

If you have not visited the newsgroups for some time, you may need to catch up:

Tools>Get next ... headers, maybe several times.
I get 300 headers a time and just one day not looking sometimes makes me miss messages in some of the most busy newsgroups (misc
and programming)

Hi Niek

Thanks for the response.
I am set for 1000 headers at a time, and on a broadband connection.
Yes, I was away in Scotland for 5 days last week, and didn't log back on
to the NG's till Sunday.
I didn't really notice any problem then, it has only been since Monday
evening I have noticed the problem.
Maybe its just a small quirk, although Gary says he has been having
problems with Google.

I don't believe it is just you or just your computer or just the newsgroups.
I have noticed the same thing using Google Groups.

Hi

Thanks for the response. Glad to know I'm not alone (in a perverse sort
of way<g>)
It does get annoying though!!

Hi Roger,

I log on through Google Groups, and I've noticed the same thing since I
got back from holiday last week - most of the threads I see have
already been answered, with the original posting(s) shown only as
quoted text (normally hidden). It means that I've not been able to
respond to as many threads as I used to do.

problem<bg>
