Colour cells

Is there a formula which will colour cells.(Not conditional format)
want to say that if cell A1 = B1 then cell f12 will turn green.

If you don't want to use Conditional Formatting because for example you
are already using it and have exceeded the 3 formats limit, then you
will have to go with a VBA solution.

If, as Richard guessed, you are looking for more than three conditions, you
may want to look at Bob Phillips' and Frank Kabels' solution.
