Excel 2003 (11.5612.5606) XP-Pro SP2

I have cells with hyperlinks to various small .JPG nd .GIF images
located in a folder different from the worksheet. For well over a year
the images have been rapidly opening with a lean, mean viewer
(Irfanview). Recently, IE7 has taken over the task, which slows me
down considerably. I have re-entered the desired program to open these
image files (Folder Options/File types/...etc) but IE7 still grabs the
file and opens it. Double-clicking on the file opens it normally with
Irfanview.

I've looked through the Excel and IE help topics, but no joy.

Anybody out there have a solution?

Many thanks in advance--

Right click on an image file and click "Open With..."  Select the
program that you want to open it with and make sure that "always use
this program" is clicked.

Alas, Jason, that's exactly what I have done, but still no joy! The
glitch may be in IE7, which was recently installed. Unfortunately, I
did not notice it until a week or so later and didn't "test" every
single program on the HD to see what havoc IE7 may wreak. Perhaps I
should have!!

Thanks--
