Hi,

Does anyone know if they have improved text handling in Excel 2007 -
things like word wrap and auto fit working for larger text amounts in a
cell, etc.?

Thanks!

Not that I can see, certainly the specs are the same 255 max width, 32k
characters in a cell, with only a limited number in cell, rest in formula
bar.  The formula bar is however now expandable for height/width so as to
not cover the sheet below

Nick,
Thanks for the info. I guess at a certain point the auto fit fails still?
Thanks!

But it's not possible to change the point size of the formula bar alone
without changing the entire Windows UI. At 10 point, even the expaning
formula bar would show no more than 4,400 characters on screen at 1024
by 768 resolution. And would the wonderful expanding formula bar leave
at least one row of the worksheet visible?

So, I guess the verdict is not much text improvement. The auto row height
starts choking on text at about 500 characters or so, AFAICT in 2006. Was
hoping for some improvement in 2007.
