Remove Hard Return

Exported contacts from Outlook 2003 in Excel format. Has vertical bars in cells (appears as box in "formula").  These represent "hard returns" from multi-line addresses. How can you remove?

Copy a single character
Open the Edit | Find & Replace menu
Paste the character in Find What box
Enter a space in the Replace With box
Click replace all
