recient doccuments

I do not know if this is a Xp or a Excel 2003 problem but my list of
recently used documents disappears every week or so. Similar listing in word
remains. It was ok yesterday but gone today, no maintenance done such as
compacting or spyware run.
Ideas please.

I known you can set CCleaner.exe and Tweak UI to delete recently used
files but not by application.  Sounds like you have a weird one.  If
they only get removed only after bootup you may have something running
in startup. Other than that ?????

Not even a bootup- just put drives and monitor to sleep last night. YES
Weird.
