conditional formatting

I only just discovered the possibility of conditional formatting.
Apparently, only three formatting rules can be set. What is the way around
this limitation if I want to make it more complex. Some formula I guess?

you must use Excel 2007 :) no limitation Conditional Formatting

or may be write a macro code
