row autofit

I am running excel 2003.
If I set a row to auto fit.  and I set the cells to wrap text.
If I start typing text, it will wrap in the cells.  growing the row height
as needed.

Now,
If I merge some cells.  It will no longer grow the height to wrap text.

how come?
is there a way to merge cells and have the text wrap?

Merged cells won't autofit -- even if you try to manually autofit the row.

Jim Rech wrote a macro called AutoFitMergedCellRowHeight that you may like:
