I am using: =sheet1!=A1 to show information on sheet2 A1.

The data shows up fine, the format does not.

For example, Sheet1 A1 is Times New Roman 10pt.

Sheet2 A1 shows Times New Roman 10pt.

Sheet1 A1 is formatted Arial 12pt bold, Sheet2 A1 still shows Times New
Roman 10pt.

Even if I start with one page formatted as I like before I use the formula,
the data still come through without the format.

Is there a simpler way than using 'Format Painter'?

You can not change the format of a cell with a formula - a formula can
only return a result. You need to set the format manually.

Thanks very much.

Probably beyond basics, but is there a way to insert a picture in a cell of
a worksheet and have it show up on another sheet?

I've never played about with pictures very much, so I can't help you
with this one - sorry.
