For no reason I can fathom, when I am in a worksheet this happens.
When I move the pointer so I am creating what looks like a text box
which looks as if I am selecting an area. But whatever I do I cannot
detach the pointer from this box. Also when I move the pointer I am
scrolling left and right, up and down.
I can only get out of it with CTRL, Alt, delete. Then I can get back
in again. But often the behavious starts again. I cannot associate it
with anything I may do.
A real pain.
I have just uninstalled and installed after another conflict which is
seemingly cured. Outlook and IE froze due to WIN FAX PRO which I don't
have ( a known problem).

It is possible that you have clicked the scroll wheel (center button on the
mouse) which enables this scrolling issue. Clicking the scroll wheel on
your mouse should take you back to normal control.

I thought I had checked everything. But the red mist had descended so
perhaps I missed that.
Thank youi

You're welcome. I'll be interested to know if that was the problem.
