Do you mean start Excel with a particular workbook?
Create a shortcut to a workbook and click on that.
If something else, post back with more detail on what a "set program" is.

If you're talking about opening a specific workbook on startup have a
read through the help files on "Customize how Excel starts" you can
set default there. Though personally i prefer Gords method.

Sorry, workbook just wouldn't come to mind so I said program.
Yes, shortcut is one partial solution and what I use.
I was toying with the idea of having excel start with the desired "workbook"
running at power up or restart of windows Xp.

Place the shortcut in your Startup folder.
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
