Backup file

Is there any way to set Excel so that a backup is made of the file you are
working on each time you save? I have made a cursory study of the
autorecover feature of the program and still do not fully understand this
feature. I do not believe it does what I have in mind. Any comments would be
insightful

My apology, I am using Excel in office 2000
