You can format the cell to display fractions:
Format>Cells>Number tab>Fraction
Select one of the options available but it sounds like you want Up to two
digits.

For symbols only, MS Reference2 and MS Reference Specialty fonts have quite a
few other than the 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4

I'm looking on character map, MS Mincho font unicode set. I'm seeing
1/3, 2/3, 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, 1/6, 5/6, 1/8, 3/8, 5/8, and 7/8. 1/3
starts at 2153 (use Go to Unicode). I'm not seeing 16th divisions,
unfortunately.

In a cell type 0 space 4/45 or whatever fraction you want.
Press enter.
Type 4 space 7/8, enter. You shoul see the pattern of the entries
Should do the trick
