Hi,

I am sure the answer to this must be simple but I just cant find it. I
have a worksheet that I want to protect (ie prevent all changes to),
so I go tools - protection - protect sheet. Strangely however, I can
still make changes to the sheet. Same if I say protect workbook.

Is there some override flag that I dont know about?

Gary

OK I found the answer myself, you must make sure they are locked
before you do the protecting.

Note also, that the protection you get with an xl file is weak at best. It
stops people of good will only :)
